Generally, this is what applies
Average Syrian Hamster
-For a hamster in a new enclosure, to allow adequate food for building a natural hoard, offer approximately 2 tablespoons nightly for the first month.
-Once a consistent hoard has been established, reduce to 1 tablespoon nightly.
Average Dwarf and Hybrid
-For a hamster in a new enclosure, offer approximately 1 tablespoon nightly to support hoarding behavior.
-Once a hoard is established (around one month), reduce to ½ tablespoon daily, or approximately 1 tablespoon every other day.
