What is it?
A painful eye condition seen primarily in dwarf hamsters where red tissue becomes visible near the eye.
It can worsen over time and needs veterinary attention.
- Red bulge near the eye
- Bulging eye
- Swelling
- Eye irritation
- Frequent rubbing or grooming
IMPORTANT: don’t self diagnose, if you think your hamster might have Red Fatty Eye, bring them to a vet!
Currently
There is no known cure for Red Fatty Eye
But the pain can be managed by a vet-recommended treatment plan
