"He has made everything beautiful in it's time"
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)
If you've read Ecclesiastes, you'll know it was written by the wisest man to have ever lived, King Solomon. He writes this book as his life is coming to an end reflecting on everything he learned. (it's a very good read if you're looking for some wisdom, it's literally the wisest man in the world's final thoughts, pretty cool!)
I love this verse because it makes me think of a flower in parallel with my life's current season. The blooming of a flower in spring is what most people would label the "beautiful part". But we cannot forget all the work and care that went into it before the blooming could happen. The tending to the soil, the planting of a seed, the watering, the protection of animals eating it, or weeding destroying the roots.
It can be hard in the thick of a difficult season when you cannot SEE the bloom just yet but it doesn't mean any of this was done in vain. Solomon reminds us that God has made everything beautiful...IN IT'S TIME, and that is so important to remember.
Sitting in my new house right now drinking my coffee while the house sleeps I can see now as I reflect on the last 5 years all that God was doing to bring us to this moment. All of the tending, planting, and watering was SO worth it even when it was really, really hard.
I hope you're encouraged today to remember that God IS faithful, and it's a promise from God, it's apart of who He is, that He has made everything beautiful in it's time (has aka past tense, meaning He's already done it, even if you don't see it just yet)
