Lets talk about (your hamster's) poop

Did you know...?

Your hamster has two different kinds of poops (on purpose)?

Both of these are healthy poops... do you know the difference?

#1 Normal Fecal Pellets

Characteristics: dry, oval, firm

You probably see these the most often in your hamster's encloure!

These are waste. There's nothing in them to recycle!

#2 Caecotropes (aka "soft poops")

Characteristics: wet, no specific shape

Packed with B vitamins, amino acids, and beneficial bacteria that weren’t fully absorbed the first time food passed through.

Your hamster will EAT these.

But don't worry! This isn't a health problem!

Caecotropes are a healthy and essential part of your hamster’s nutrition.

Basically, your hamster is a Pro Poo Recycler
