Has your hamster ever escaped from their enclosure?
If yes, it’s possible that it’s because they chewed through their enclosure or the acrylic popped out of place!

When a lot of bedding is compacted into the enclosure the acrylic has a hard time staying in place.
This front window only allows for a limited amount of bedding...

your hamster can escape if the acrylic pops out, and not only that, but having notches in the acrylic so far down can allow your hamster to get a grip on the enclosure with their teeth and chew through.
This is part of the problem.
How we solve it...
The Happy Hamstery Home has metal corner protectors that not only prevent hamsters from chewing through the enclosure, but it doubles as a stabilizer for the acrylic

Did you know that triangles are the strongest shape?
Unlike a four-sided square or rectangle that can easily lean or collapse into a parallelogram under pressure, a triangle has fixed angles locked by the lengths of its sides.
A slanted-lid construction incorporates triangular support, one of the most structurally stable shapes in design.
Triangulation helps prevent shifting and flexing while distributing forces across multiple points of the enclosure.
Not to mention... raise your hand if a non-slanted lid has ever whacked you in the head when you did a cage clean..
Acrylic
Acrylic is safe when used properly, but should never be ingested. If broken, sharp pieces can cause more immediate harm than the acrylic itself.
Because acrylic is thick, durable, and difficult to chew, it can be a safe material for hamster accessories when edges aren’t accessible.
That’s why proper design, ventilation, and limited chew access were so important to us.
Let's talk ventilation...
A lot of enclosures have a questionable amount of ventilation.

Many hamster parents are worried that some enclosures don’t have enough ventilation.
And while this enclosure does have a slanted lid, it’s missing a latch on the front lid to prevent escapes.
The Happy Hamstery Home
Triples the amount of ventilation that is standard in an enclosure.
Each line on the lid and upper half of the enclosure are ventilation.
It also has a latch on the lid!
Finally...
Many people have reported that the gaps in many other enclosures have allowed bedding, sand and moisture to seep through the enclosure
To alleviate this issue, the Happy Hamstery Home comes with an easy to clean acrylic panel that can be secured with the metal corners and an optional replaceable rush grass mat can be purchased!
There are many...
Great enclosures on the market, the Happy Hamstery Home aimed to improve on features that we noticed the hamster community was struggling with, though they may not interfere with other people’s experiences with the enclosures.
We encourage people to do their research when deciding which enclosure they invest in to make sure it has the necessary square inches, and that it meets other safety requirements that are best for your small pet.
