Remember
This transition for you, but for your hamster as well.
Things to keep in mind:
This is your hamster's first time being away from siblings
They no longer have to compete for food or battle over enrichments. Your hamster may become a hoarder of their food or they may try to eat all of it, allow them to adjust to the transition of non-competition.
Everything is totally unknown to them
Everything sounds different and smells different-- your hamster is being put in an entirely new environment that is unfamiliar to them. Expect them to be apprehensive to the transition and be patient with them as they familiarize themselves with you.
They are a prey species
A lot of hamster owners let their hamsters sit in this fear that they are not able to conquer by themselves. Since hamsters are a prey species, they will not take strides to be brave, you have to help them acclimate. Stress lowers immune system and can physically harm your hamster.
