Nutritional support made for your aging hamster (18+ months) with this fresh, supportive, high-variety, organic seed blend.
Originally formulated for our ethically bred Winter White hamsters raised in-house at Happy Hamstery, this balanced recipe was designed to support your hamster through their golden years. As hamsters age, their nutritional needs change. The Elderly Hamfetti Mix was developed with focus on maintaining protein in-take, with a focus on lowering the fat content, and instead focusing on easier to digest food, that is higher in fiber. These adjustments help to better suit an aging hamster’s slower metabolism while maintaining the protein keeps them for satiated, and having extra fiber to support healthy digestion!
Each batch is made fresh once a month by Tabitha, owner of Happy Hamstery, using a wide range of organic grains, legumes, seeds, and tea-grade flowers for a wholesome daily staple diet hamsters can enjoy instinctively.
Key Features:
- Made for Aging Hamsters — Meets the specific nutritional needs for hamsters over 18 months old!
- Maintaining Protein —We can support aging hamster by maintaining their protein intake even as their metabolism slows. Eating protein will help keep hammies feeling full, and crave fats less, while also providing the hamsters species who are more prone to developing diabetes the nutrition their body needs.
- Less Fats — Aging hamsters benefit from less fats in their diet to support their slowing metabolism, having too much fat can add an increased risk of weight gain which can decrease mobility and life span.
- Increased Fiber — Aging hamsters can actually benefit from more fiber at this point in their life. Increased fiber helps their aging bodies support digestion, and give them the nutrition they need without it being too hard on their body.
- Made Fresh Monthly — using 100% Organic Seeds from Azure Standard and Tea-Grade Flowers from Farmers
