This is us
It all began when I was 11 years old and adopted my first hamster, Freddy. As I grew up, I adopted more and more hamsters, falling in love with each one. But, at age 19, my love interest fell elsewhere…can you blame me? ;)
At 22, I married the most beautiful man in the world. After being married for a few months, I realized how much I missed owning hamsters. So, like any wife, I begged him to get me a hamster for Valentine’s Day AND…he did!
One day, while I was on YouTube, I stumbled upon a video called, ‘Hamster Care Basics’. Intrigued, I clicked it, and watched the ENTIRE video! Then, I watched another, and another and another, until eventually I’d watched 90% of that channel in one week…WHY?
BECAUSE EVERYTHING I THOUGHT I KNEW ABOUT HAMSTER CARE, WAS….WRONG !
I was in complete shock…APPARENTLY:
Hamsters need sand baths (but not dust or powder)
Hamsters need 6+ inches of shavings to burrow in (but not pine or cedar)
Hamsters are OMNIVORES (my Pet Store Guide had said otherwise!)
The list went ON and ON.
I’d owned 20+ hamsters during my life…how come no one told me I was doing so much wrong?
I began to wonder, “How many more people, think they are giving their hamsters the best care and yet sadly, have absolutely no idea how much they are doing wrong.”
It was in that moment, I decided to create…
